Pay-per-Click Plan - $39.95/month

Pay per Click (PPC) Advertising can be a cost-effective way to promote your website. You are basically paying for search engines to place links to your website at the top of search results pages when users enter search terms related to your site. There are two main PPC companies: Overture and Adwords.

How does Pay-per-Click work?
Let's say you deposit $100 into your Overture account. Your balance is $100. Each time a visitor clicks through to your site from an ad displayed on the Overture network (Yahoo, MSN Search, Lycos, AltaVista, InfoSpace, and many other search sites) a small amount is deducted from this account. This small amount is based on an amount you set. If you set your bid at $.10 per click and you have 20 visitors click through to your site, then your balance with Overture is reduced to $98.00. When your balance reaches $0.00, your site is removed from the search results until you replenish funds into your Overture account.

How Much does a click cost?
The cost per click varies depending on the search term used to deliver your site. Suppose a web surfer went to Yahoo and searched for "blue widgets" and you happen to be in the business of selling blue widgets. Obviously, you would want Yahoo to display your site at the top of the search results page. To do this, you place a bid of $.10 per click for the term "blue widgets." Now, every time somebody types in "blue widgets" you are guaranteed to be at the top of the search results for that term and it only costs you $.10 per click.

Now let's supposed your competitor also wants to advertise for the term "blue widgets" also. Your competitor offers a bid of $.11 and now your competitor is at the top and you are in the #2 position. It would make sense to bid again at $.13 per click and take back your #1 position. This is basically how search terms get their value. If the search term is highly sought after by many advertisers, then its value is quite high. Less popular terms are cheaper. You can have as many search terms as you like. The more you have, the better chance you will have for receiving click thrus to your site. Be specific when choosing terms (more descriptive terms tend to cost less): "blue widgets dallas texas", "small red widgets", "cheap widgets", etc.
